The role

As an API Developer for the Content Tech Tribe, you will be a key driver in our platform's evolution. Your primary purpose is to build the robust, scalable, and secure API for a new event-driven collaborative system that will replace and modernize existing legacy solutions. You will serve as a technical authority on API design, guiding frontend teams and collaborating across the organization to ensure our services are efficient, reliable, and future-proof.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Implementing a secure, reliable data access and business logic for a new collaborative system.
• Integrating APIs with external services and internal applications.
• Writing clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code.
• Collaborating with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Monitoring, debugging, and optimising API performance and reliability.

Qualifications/Experience

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern API design (REST API, Graph QL)
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Understanding of scalable architecture, cloud services (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, agile team environment.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
